PCM Tooling (UK) Ltd, are pleased to announce Heimatec’s

HT Quick Change System
Speeds tool-change and productivity on Mill Turn Centres

The rapid growth
of the installation and use of Mill Turn Centres over the last few years, has
substantially increased
productivity and
reduced floor to floor times, or second operation machining, on a wide range of
components and
products in the
Aerospace, Medical, Autosport, and other precision engineering sectors.
Cutting Tools
held in the driven heads used on Mill Turn machines have, from the introduction
of such machines,

usually been held
in ER type collet adaptors for accuracy. Whilst this met the requirements of
accuracy, it did
mean a relatively
slow exchange or replacement of the cutting tool when cutter wear etc required
it.
Often, it also
meant that the complete driven tool had to be removed from the machine turret,
especially
if ‘off machine’
tool pre-setting had to be carried out.
Heimatec,
the well-known producers of high precision driven tools for a wide range of Mill
Turn Centres, have overcome this requirement and introduced the Heimatec HT
system with the following advantages and benefits:
·
Tool change in just a few seconds, without removing the driven tool from the
machine turret
·
Precision tool pre-setting off the machine
·
Repeatability of toolchange, maximum 0,005mm
·
Internal, external, or combined coolant facilities
·
Top
quality stiffness – resulting from simultaneous shaft and face contact
·
Toolholding of cutters, uses the HT rapid change adaptors with options of collet
chuck, Weldon, combi shell mill fittings, shrink chucks, indexable insert
holders, toolholders with KM fittings etc, according to the machine users cutter
holding needs.
·
Fixed block toolholder
·
An
added benefit of the HT system is that it is also available for machines having
‘fixed block’ type toolholding on the machine turret.
